"Those that did not undergo the Perlimau Tapak Ceremony, cannot be considered as a pupil of Gayong and not acknowledged as a member of Gayong"

Many have argued as to the actual meaning of the word "GAYONG". However, we value the meaning "Gayong" as a sacred trust. And there are many other things that has to be preserved so as to be handed down to the next generation.

The Perlimau Tapak ceremony is held as a sacred trust that is upheld by Gayong practitioners as a symbol of one's entering into the world of Silat Seni Gayong that is focused with training syllabus, locks, strikes, exercises, etc. Not for non-members.

ADAT-ISTIADAT PERLIMAU TAPAK

The starting stage to learn the basic 7 techniques that will later be broken down into 49 other set forms at White belt level. The training is limited to empty hands forms.

The second level after obtaining white belt.

Before training in the art of Kris fighting, practitioners went through the Prelimau Seni Ceremony and the Kris Opening Ceremony.

With the sacred trust that is bestowed by the Late Grandmaster,
all that uses the name Gayong but did not undergo the Perlimau Tapak ceremony cannot be accepted as member of Silat Seni Gayong PASAK.
