BRIEF HISTORY
Silat Seni Gayong was actively promoted on 17 February 1942 in Pulau Sudong by the late Dato' Meor Abdul Rahman bin Daeng Uda Mohd. Hashim.
Situated in Pulau Sudong is the ancestral tomb of Daeng Marewah, where Daeng Abdullah Ibni Daeng Marewah and Pak Ubah bin Daeng Abdullah, the great grandfather and grandfather to Hj. Md. Yusuf bin Osman (Advisor, PASAK).
Dato' Meor became the Grandmaster of Silat Seni Gayong in Pulau Sudong and through his effort, Silat Seni Gayong spread to the main island of Singapore. He was later given the title Dato' Tengku Daeng Meor Abdul Rahman Bin Daeng Uda Mohd.

The spread of this silat style was so wide that it was possible to establish the School of Silat Seni Gayong Singapore. Some of his first students were Hj. Jonid bin Hamin, Ahmad Suni,Salim,Hj.Mansor Fadal,Hj. Fadlan,Sinwan and others including Hj.Hussain Bin Kaslan.

Hj. Hussain Kaslan was entrusted as the absolute representative of
Dato' Meor and was inaugurated as Imam Khalifah Silat Seni Gayong Singapore, and was given the title Sri Mahkota Agong Relang Pelangi by
Dato'Meor Abdul Rahman in Perak.

After Dato' Meor moved to Malaysia, he entrusted all matters and responsibilities in Singapore to Hj. Hussain Kaslan.
